What is Whole Food, Plant-Based Eating? Why is it Important? There can be a lot of confusion around labels, such as vegan and whole food, plant-based (WFPB). Sally Lipsky, PhD, is a late-stage cancer survivor, plant-based nutrition educator, speaker, and author of Beyond Cancer: The Powerful Effect of Plant-Based Eating. In this special presentation she shares how you can: · Understand the distinction between vegan and whole food, plant-based (WFPB) eating. · Understand key health-promoting components of WFPB eating. · Become familiar with simple steps for meal preparation. Sally is passionate about plant-based nutrition and how it impacted her life. With an extensive background in adult learning, she presents practical steps and tips that those unfamiliar with WFPB can easily incorporate into their lives to improve their health and wellness. In addition to her book, she is founder/president of the non-profit Food for Health; and leader of Plant-Based Pittsburgh, with the mission of creating communities of health based on plant-centered food choices.
